Activism runs in the family! Moises’ mother, Victoria Cruz, is also an activist and outspoken advocate for change and reform. It was Victoria who suggested Moises join her to protest for immigration rights years ago when they loaded a bus bound for a rally in Washington D.C.
A strong woman who made many sacrifices to provide a better life for her family, Victoria was recently featured in an article in the Winston-Salem Journal reflecting on President Obama’s executive action on immigration. Read the whole article here and watch a video of Victoria making tortillas.
